Cultivating Patience: How to Deal with Life’s Challenges

Spiritual Director Kushok Lobsang Dhamchöe welcomes new and returning students to join him for a new 5-week course, Cultivating Patience: How to Deal with Life’s Challenges. This course will provide invaluable information about how to manage life’s difficulties through learning how to overcome anger, accept suffering, respect others, and find happiness in the happiness of others.

Discover the transformative power of patience and its essential role in the path towards self-realization and awakened action. In this enlightening course, delve into the sixth chapter of Shantideva’s renowned work, “A Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life,” an inspiring roadmap to cultivating patience as a core practice of bodhisattvas.

Under the guidance of our Spiritual Director, Kushok Lobsang Dhamchöe, students will explore the depth and wisdom of Shantideva’s teachings verse by verse. Through Kushok’s insightful interpretations, students will gain a profound understanding of patience as a quintessential quality of a bodhisattva and its relevance in our everyday lives.

Throughout this 5-week course, students will:

  • Uncover the essence of patience and its importance as a practice in the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life.
  • Delve into Shantideva’s teachings to unearth strategies for overcoming anger and embracing acceptance.

INVESTMENT:

The course fee is $75 CAD.

Refund Policy: An individual may receive a refund, less a $15 administration fee, if they request the refund from the Society Office by email, before 2:00 PM the day after the first class.

REGISTRATION DEADLINE:

Please register by Friday, May 12. The Zoom link will be sent by Monday, May 15.

IN-PERSON ATTENDANCE:

This course will be held at the Alberta Centre for Peace and Meditation, 11403-101 Street, Edmonton, AB T5G 2A9. Students are welcome to attend in person or online via Zoom.

VIRTUAL ATTENDANCE:

For your convenience, all registered students will receive the Zoom link to the course. Members will have access to class recordings. Not a member? Join today!

We are using Zoom meetings to provide the Teachings and events online. We are recording these Zoom livestream events as videos. We may offer these videos online through our Membership Portal.
