Winter Calm Abiding Meditation Retreat
Saturday, March 4, 2023
9:30 AM – 4:30 PM
Investment: $95

Includes Lunch & Snacks

Join us for a 1-day experiential retreat with our Spiritual Director, Kushok Lobsang Dhamchöe. This is a wonderful opportunity to discover the joys of meditation. You will learn how to focus your mind so you can better analyze your thoughts and emotions, enabling you to transform negative states into positive ones. The teachings Kushok shares on this day offer the foundation for developing a meditation practice for beginners, as well as for deepening and improving practice for those who have already started a meditation practice.

During the morning session, Kushok will explain what Calm Abiding Meditation is, followed by a Guided Meditation. In the afternoon session, he will give a teaching on the four applications of mindfulness.  Walking meditation will start off the afternoon session. A question-and-answer session will end the afternoon session. Throughout the day there will be several opportunities to ask Kushok questions about your practice and obtain further guidance.

Before lunch, we will be offering a 45-minute Yoga Class (suitable for all levels) taught by Registered Yoga Teacher, Timmie Horvath, RMT, E-RYT. Please bring your own yoga mat. Feel free to meditate, reflect or walk the beautiful grounds of the Providence Centre if you prefer.

A selection of Dharma books and items will also be available for sale during the breaks.
