Spiritual Director Kushok Lobsang Dhamchöe welcomes new and returning students to join him for a continuation of our Buddhist philosophy course, Vigilant Awareness: Guarding the Treasure of your Mind, beginning Thursday, March 16, 2023.

No prerequisites required! It’s not necessary for you to have attended the previous courses in this series in order for you to benefit from this one.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Drawing on the wisdom of numerous Buddhist masters, Kushok will continue his detailed commentary of Shantideva’s landmark text on cultivating the altruistic heart, The Way of the Bodhisattva. This text is considered one of the great classics of Buddhist literature and is treasured by all Buddhist traditions alike. This course will focus on Chapter 5, where we learn the importance of vigilant awareness, or introspection, in protecting our Bodhichitta morality and positive mind. Introspection is one of the 3 tools of the mind that aid both our practice on the cushion, and our positive attitudes and actions in our daily life. Developing awareness will help us to follow through with what we’ve learned, and make progress on the path of taming our mind.

Now more than ever, there is a need for compassion and loving kindness in the world. Please don’t miss out on this opportunity to train your mind and soften your heart under the careful guidance of our precious teacher, Kushok Lobsang Dhamchöe.

No pre-requisite is required. Everyone is welcome.
