We warmly invite you to join us for The Journey Within: Where Neuroscience Meets Ancient Wisdom, an inspiring fundraising gala presented by Gaden Samten Ling Tibetan Buddhist Meditation Society in partnership with Heroes Unleashed, in support of the Alberta Centre for Peace and Meditation.

This special evening brings together the insights of neuroscience, lived experience, and the timeless wisdom of Tibetan Buddhism to explore a question that touches every one of us:

How do we create meaningful and lasting positive change in our lives?

More than an evening of inspiration, this is an opportunity to help build something that will continue serving our community for generations to come. Every ticket purchased, every sponsorship, and every donation brings us one step closer to realizing the vision of the Alberta Centre for Peace and Meditation a welcoming place where people of all backgrounds can gather to learn meditation, cultivate compassion, improve mental well-being, and discover greater peace in their daily lives.

Together we will share an evening of learning, connection, and inspiration while supporting the creation of a more mindful, compassionate, and connected community. Guests will enjoy a beautifully catered buffet dinner, live music, meaningful conversation, networking opportunities, special guests, a silent auction, and a 50/50 raffle.

    Featured Presentation
At the heart of the evening is a unique conversation between Kushok Lobsang Dhamchöe and Matt Devine two individuals whose life journeys have taken very different paths, yet whose experiences point toward a common truth: genuine transformation begins within.

As Spiritual Director of Gaden Samten Ling Tibetan Buddhist Meditation Society, Kushok Lobsang Dhamchöe has devoted his life to studying, practicing, and sharing the profound teachings of Tibetan Buddhism. Through decades of meditation, contemplative practice, and compassionate service, he has guided countless people in cultivating greater wisdom, emotional resilience, compassion, and inner peace. His teachings reveal that lasting happiness arises not from changing our circumstances, but from transforming the way we relate to them.

Alongside him is Matt Devine, founder of Heroes Unleashed, whose path of transformation emerged through extraordinary personal challenge, endurance, and service. After navigating burnout, declining health, and a profound search for purpose, Matt rebuilt his life through resilience, community, and intentional action. His remarkable accomplishments including cycling 12,500 kilometres across Canada, completing seven marathons in seven days, and leading the Heroes Unleashed Cross-Canada Challenge have inspired thousands while raising more than $250,000 for children's charities.

Although their journeys have unfolded in different ways, Kushok and Matt share a common commitment: helping others discover the strength, clarity, and compassion that already exist within them.

Together they will explore where ancient contemplative wisdom and modern neuroscience meet, offering practical insights into mindfulness, mental fitness, emotional resilience, compassion, and well-being. Through thoughtful conversation, personal stories, and lived experience, they will demonstrate how a deeper understanding of the mind can empower us to create positive change not only within ourselves, but within our families, workplaces, and communities.
