What if the busiest place in the city became the most peaceful for just one hour?

Join us for City Hall Harmony: An Introduction to Meditation, a free community event that invites you to step away from the noise of everyday life and discover the simple practice of meditation.

Whether you're completely new to meditation or have practiced before, this welcoming session is open to everyone.

When you arrive, look for the Gaden Samten Ling welcome table and banner, where volunteers will be there to greet you. Chairs will be provided for all participants. During this one-hour session, you'll experience:

    -A welcoming introduction to meditation

-A 30-minute guided meditation led by Kushok Lobsang Dhamchöe

-An opportunity to ask questions during an open Q&A

-Practical techniques you can bring into your everyday life to cultivate greater calm, clarity, and resilience

Meditation has been practiced for thousands of years, yet its benefits are perhaps more relevant today than ever before. In a world that constantly asks us to do more, meditation offers something different: the opportunity to simply pause, breathe, and reconnect with ourselves.

This session will be led by Kushok Lobsang Dhamchöe, Spiritual Director of Gaden Samten Ling Tibetan Buddhist Meditation and the Alberta Centre for Peace and Meditation. Known for his warmth, humour, and practical approach to teaching, Kushok has helped thousands of people discover meditation as a path toward greater peace and well-being.

Parking: Paid parking is available in the City Hall parkade located directly beneath the building. Please note that access may be affected by current downtown construction, and the City advises entering from the north via 103A Avenue and 99 Street.

Whether you're looking to reduce stress, cultivate mindfulness, or simply enjoy a quiet moment in the heart of downtown, we invite you to join us. Bring a friend, a family member, or a coworker, and discover what just one hour of stillness can offer.

We look forward to welcoming you.
