Prayer Flag Ceremony

10:00 AM – 2:00 PM MDT

A prayer flag ritual is a combination of hanging prayer flags and reciting auspicious prayers to bless the environment. After the ceremony we have a delicious potluck lunch together and stay to visit.

Those who would like to help with setting up for the ceremony and potluck and hanging prayer flags should plan to arrive by 10:00 a.m. If coming just for the ceremony please arrive no later than 10:45 a.m. Please note that times are country time so the event may start earlier or later. Come early if you don’t want to miss out.

Forty five minutes north-west of Edmonton, near Onoway.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS: Directions will be given by the office once you register.

Pre-registration is required. 


– Wear modest comfortable clothes
– Dress for the weather! Bring warm layers including a shawl or coat
– Healthy wholesome entrée, salad, or dessert for the potluck
– Refillable water bottle or reusable tea/coffee mug
– Reusable dishes and cutlery
– Blanket and cushion or chair for meditation/prayers
– Lawn chair to sit on for the potluck

DHARMA SERVICE OPPORTUNITY:Come early (10:00 a.m.) to lend a hand. There is lots of set up to do and the more hands to help, the lighter the work. Also please stay to help takedown and clean up after the potluck.
