Course Description – Medicine Buddha Mantra and Meditation Class
With the global impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are reminded that our health and well-being is never guaranteed. In this five-week course, Kushok Lobsang Dhamchoe will provide in depth teachings on Medicine Buddha and the immeasurable benefits of this spiritual practice. Students will learn how to use visualization of Medicine Buddha, and his mantra, to develop a close connection with this deity so they may begin to receive the blessings of this practice—from pacifying obstacles to health for oneself and others, to the imperceptible blessings of merit for the ripening of ultimate happiness. Working with Medicine Buddha can be especially beneficial to practitioners in the healing or health field.
Kushok’s expert guidance and in depth teachings about Medicine Buddha will foster enduring love and caring for our own and others’ health and well-being during these very difficult times. Whether one is new to meditation, or seeking health and an enrichment to their spiritual practice, this course can provide the essential foundation and instruction needed.
There are no course prerequisites. This course, however, is designed to complement the Medicine Buddha Retreat, to be held Saturday, December 5th, 2020. Students interested in deepening their knowledge and practice of Medicine Buddha may also be interested in registering for the retreat.
Anyone with an interest in learning mantra meditation and the practice of Medicine Buddha, or those who are wanting to develop or deepen their connection with Medicine Buddha so as to receive the immeasurable benefits of this practice, are welcome to attend.
Currently the course will only be offered virtually until such time as we are able to safely open the Centre for regular classes. It is our intention to continue offering zoom classes as an option even after the Centre reopens.
