Spiritual Director Kushok Lobsang Dhamchöe welcomes new and returning students to join him for a new 3-week deity study course, Life Story of Manjushri, The Buddha of Wisdom, beginning Tuesday, May 31st, 2022. (Please note there is no class on June 14th).
In Tibetan Buddhist philosophy, there are two wings to enlightenment: the wing of compassion; and the wing of wisdom, the realization of the ultimate nature of reality. Historically, Tibetan Buddhist practitioners have used the practice of Manjushri, the Bodhisattva (Buddha) of Wisdom, to assist them in opening their wisdom mind as he was the recipient of the wisdom lineage, The Lineage of Profound View, of Buddha Shakyamuni’s teachings.
This course is designed to help students at all stages of practice to develop a strong connection to the Buddha of Wisdom through learning about his origin, history and his enlightened qualities. Through a strong connection to Manjushri and diligent practice, one can begin to develop insight and clarity into the true nature of reality.
The course fee is $35 CAD.
It is Gaden Samten Ling’s policy that no one should be turned away due to lack of funds. If you feel you would benefit from this course but are unable to register for financial reasons, please contact Gillian at [email protected].
Refund Policy: An individual may receive a refund, less a $15 administration fee, if they request the refund from the Society Office by email, before 2:00 PM the day after the first class.
Please register by Friday, May 29. The Zoom link will be sent by Monday, May 30.
This course will be held at the Alberta Centre for Peace and Meditation, 11403-101 Street, Edmonton, AB T5G 2A9. Students are welcome to attend in person or online via Zoom.
